The new Context View in crossDesk facilitates the translation process by means of an improved arrangement of the various elements. The Source View and the Target Editor have been combined in order to enable translators to make changes directly in the target text while following along in the source text. In this way, they can work fast and efficiently and ensure high translation quality. The Context View also facilitates post-editing as well as the processing of corrections. The side-by-side display of the source and target texts and the possibility to edit the text directly makes it easier for translators to find and correct mistakes. The Context View thus represents an indispensable tool for translators who value a fast, efficient mode of operation.

The QM module has been expanded and improved in order to offer translators easy-to-understand correction proposals in the respective context. Thanks to the revised QM tiles and the context information, translators can make decisions faster. The application of improvement proposals has been simplified for more efficiency. The QM categories have been renamed in order to make it easier to distinguish them. Moreover, the QM module now features options for checking the punctuation in French. All in all, the QM module helps translators to deliver high-quality translations faster and more efficiently in line with customer requirements.

The information on the type of pre-translation is now transmitted in a more detailed manner in the supply chain in order to facilitate the project management. In the new version, operations such as the deletion of paragraph comments, the confirmation and opening of tasks, or the adjustment of due dates are even easier and faster to handle.

Boost your efficiency and handle smaller tasks in record time with Across! The new v8.0 allows you to concurrently open and process multiple tasks with different file formats. This will help you to finish your tasks even faster.

Across v8.0 offers improved navigation through the various menu items and functions. In addition to the name of the function, the tooltips in crossDesk now contain short descriptions of the full potential of the various application options. The icons have been revised in order to make their function even more recognizable.

crossWeb users can customize the position and size of the individual panes and tabs. As of v8.0, these customizations are saved locally, preserving the custom layout. Of course there is also a function to restore the standard layout.

The Across Language Assistant—our desktop-based tool for fast queries of existing translations and terminology as well as secure machine translation throughout the company—now also supports sublanguages. Further improvements such as the color highlighting of the matches or marking of concordance hits contribute to user friendliness and efficiency.

The innovative machine translation system AcrossMT has been successfully implemented. The seamless integration of the MT system in the Across Language Server paves the way for various future functions, such as automatic retraining, integration of your corporate terminology, and adaptive MT.
